Start with a memory they will recognize

For a personal gift, choose details that belong to your mom: a place, a habit, or a moment you still talk about. Two or three specific memories are enough to give the lyrics a personal direction.

Turn everyday care into a thank-you

Think of a routine you only appreciated later: packed lunches, school runs, Sunday calls or a recipe she taught you. Describe the scene before writing the thank-you.

If siblings or grandchildren are contributing, ask each for one short memory. Choose a few that fit together instead of trying to include everyone’s whole story.

For Mother’s Day, center the chorus on gratitude. For her birthday, include something she enjoys now as well as the family memories.
